Kaya and Wanjoo
It is amazing to think that we only have less than a week left before our school summer break. In case any of you are counting, it’s 4 more school days as the students final day is Thursday 18 December. Staff finish on Friday 19 December.
Last week we had our final school council meeting for 2025. I would like to thank all our members for their hard work and dedication to our school. It is a pleasure to work with you all as we work together to unite our community at our wonderful school. If you would like to join our amazing team in 2026, please let us know. We meet once per term, week 8, on a Tuesday 1.45-2.45 pm.

Semester Two Student Achievement Reports will be made available on Wednesday 17 December, by 3 pm, via Compass. We would encourage you to discuss these reports with your child/children, celebrating achievements, reflecting on areas that may need improvement and setting goals for 2026.
It has been lovely to meet with some of our students and families who have enrolled for 2026. Class structures are based on known student numbers and students are placed with the best of intentions to help them settle quickly into their new learning area. This week we have continued to have enquiries about enrolments and staff have worked together drafting class structures as we continue to grow. Class lists will be posted at the front of the school on Thursday 29 January at 3 pm.
Welcome to our new school councillors for 2026. They were announced at Friday’s assembly. I was very impressed with the speeches and presentation of all students. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our out-going student councillors and faction captains and praise them on the fabulous way they represented Kingsley this year.

The next 4 days sees many exciting events on our calendar including our Book Award Assembly, and our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony. Our P-5 students celebrate their PBS positive reward with a water fun day at school. Our yr 6 students have their exciting day at Adventure World. Please continue to check the school calendar on our website to ensure that you keep up to date.
In 2026, we have decided as a staff to change the Faction name of Kwila to Maali which means swan. We feel this name better reflects the deep cultural significance as a Noongar totem animal and symbol of the Swan River itself. The black swan symbolises the connection between land and its people. While the name of the faction will change, the colour will remain blue.
To our staff, students, and family community, I wish you all a fabulous summer break full of people that you love to see, and the many things that you love to do. Stay safe and take care and thank you for your ongoing support of KPS.
Caroline Churchill, Principal.
AFFIRMATION ASSEMBLY
CONGRATULATIONS for 160 Days of Excellent Behaviour

At the Affirmation Assembly, there was a major raffle draw for students who had earnt their medallion. The prize was a fantastic scooter and helmet donated by Dr Tony Buti MLA. Congratulations to the winner, Riley from room 9. Riley was absent, so his brother, Beau accepted the scooter on his behalf.

Kingsley’s Futsal Debut

In Week 6, Kingsley Primary competed in the School Sport WA Boys and Girls Futsal Carnival for the very first time.
Despite being new to the sport and facing experienced opposition, our boys finished 4th overall and our girls finished 5th, a fantastic result for our first appearance. Across the day, both teams recorded two wins, one draw and three losses, showing great determination in every match.
We also had plenty of exciting moments on the scoreboard. Skye led the way with an impressive 7 goals, Ayuub added 3, and Amelia, Christina and Jude each scored 1.
Most importantly, our students represented Kingsley with effort, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the carnival.
Well done to all players!
Mr Nicholas
Senior Sport Teacher
