School Council

Our School Council is made up of parents, staff and community members who are dedicated to the continuous improvement of Kingsley Primary School. The council plays an important role in contributing to good school governance so that school resources are used efficiently, and community expectations and the school’s priorities reflect the needs of our students.  The council is led by our Chairperson Sam Shepherd and meets a minimum of 4 times per year.

A Message from our Chairperson

Kingsley School Council provides the opportunity for the school community to determine and oversee the objectives and priorities of the school.  The Council currently has nine members—two staff and seven school community members–and must maintain a majority of school community members.

A School Council is a mandated and necessary part of the functioning of the school.  It enables parents and carers to participate in the broad planning of their children’s education at an executive level.  This ensures that Kingsley evolves as a distinctive primary school amongst others serving the particular needs and aspirations of the broader local community.

Meetings are open to the wider school community and are held at least once a term.
