NEWSLETTER Term 4 week 8

At KPS we love celebrating attendance. In week 3 of this term room 2 won the highest percentage of attendance award by achieving 93.6 % student attendance. In week 5, room 7 won the most improved award by increasing their attendance by 5.9%.

Developing the habit of going to school every day is vitally important so that your child does not miss out on important ideas and skills they need for future learning. It is a legal requirement that parents contact the school regarding any student absences or reasons for lateness. You can make this contact via the Compass app, emailing the school at Kingsley.PS@education.wa.edu.au or calling the school office on 9234 3800.

Please remember to provide a reason and anticipated return date when notifying the school about a student absence.

This information assists us to use the correct absence codes and support students with their learning. Daily SMS messages are automatically generated and sent to families when we do not have documented reasons for student absences.

Our Interschool Cross Country was held today, and I’m sure our students represented Kingsley proudly. Cross Country is a sport that typically takes place in all weather conditions with an open-air course over natural terrain.

Families will be notified when they have access to student reports for Semester One on-line. We hope that you will take the opportunity to share this report with your child/children. Celebrate their achievements and improvements and then discuss what areas they may be able to improve on. If you are experiencing any difficulties accessing these reports, please speak with your classroom teacher or contact the office so that we can help you.

Later this term we will be holding our reporting to parent meetings. Please ensure that you sign up as we truly believe that education is a partnership. We know that education is most successful when schools and families work together. While teachers provide guidance, knowledge, and support in the classroom, parents and caregivers reinforce learning and values at home. This partnership creates a strong foundation for students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Regular communication, mutual respect, and shared goals help ensure that every child receives the encouragement and opportunities they need to succeed. By working together, schools and families can inspire students to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at our Edu-Dance concert on 23 June Thank you for your on-going support of Kingsley Primary School
