From the Principal – Week 7

Kaya Parents and Carers

In the blink of an eye we are seeing another term of teaching and learning coming to a close…and what a term it has been!

The term began with our Public School Review, where we were able to showcase the fantastic work that is being done at KPS across the six domains of school improvement. A week later…Miss Robinson, Mrs Lovell, Mr Devlin and our Year 6 students packed their swags (and tents) and braved the elements camping at the Bickley Recreation camp…where many people (both children and adults) courageously pushed themselves out of their comfort zones…zip lining, rafting and climbing ridiculously high ropes!

Whilst many of the tasks were challenging, the students have reported that Camp has definitely been the Highlight of the Year! This week, Mr Noblett and I had the privilege of having lunch at the Dome with our outgoing Student Councillors and Faction Captains, to celebrate and thank them for their leadership efforts throughout the year.

This week we also welcomed our 2024 Student Councillors to the Leadership Team, and we look forward to supporting them to turn their ideas into reality next year. Over the next three weeks, we have many special events organised to celebrate our achievements.

Our K/PP students are going to the Zoo, our Years 1-5 will be celebrating at Bounce and our Year 6s have the privilege of cooling off at Adventure World. Demonstrating The Kingsley Way and having good attendance and pre-requisites for attending and we look forward to as many students attending as possible!

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our Book Awards Assembly and at our Year 6 Graduation. Until then…try to stay cool!

Take care.
